I have an abdominal aneurysm. Can an abdominal aneurysm be fixed?

abdominal aneurysms can be fixed by putting in a long multi segmental covered stent system called endograft. It works quite well but asked to be done by experienced hands in Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Radiology, Vascular surgery, or Cardiovascular surgery depending in his location. You can go online and look it up on Google or YouTube further under "abdominal endograft placement". Hope that helps.
Yes. Vascular surgeons can "fix" an abdominal aneurysm. Size and location of the aneurysm influence the risk of rupture. Treatment involves placing a stent or replacing the aneurysm with a prosthetic graft.
Yes. If you have an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm or AAA, you should get checked at least once a year by a vascular surgeon. If the aneurysm is tender or if it reaches a certain size (usually 5 cm) then it should be repaired. There are 2 ways in which we repair the aneurysms. One of them is a minimally invasive surgery that requires putting stents inside the aneurysm to repair it. The other way we fix these is by doing open surgery which is a big operation done in the hospital. Both of these are very effective and safe.

The risk of having an aneurysm is that if they get too large, they can rupture. This becomes a very significant medical emergency. The main take-home message is that if you have one, get checked. If it is big enough, get it fixed.
In general, they can be fixed. The timing of when they are fixed and how they are fixed is all dependent upon how they look and what is involved. You should see a vascular surgeon for an evaluation. Get Outlook for iOS<https://aka.ms/o0ukef>
