Depends on the size of the stone, if can be flushed out by drinking copious amounts of fluids while taking certain medications that facilitate its passage.

If you have tendency for stone formation, drinking fluids, restricting salt and in some cases taking medications specific for the type of kidney stone can prevent or slow down stone formation.

Since every patient is different, and every stone is different, your doctor can answer questions specific to your case.
