Hi

For hand nerve pain, I recommend Biofeedback and Bioressonace; it is scientifically proven that biofeedback can help with chronic pain. At Spiritual Balance, We have FDA-approved Biofeedback systems and Biofeedback Specialists on staff. Also, cold laser works wonders.

I'd recommend consulting with an occupational therapist, preferably a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), to address your nerve pain. I'd approach the pain differently depending on the type of injury, nerve effected, etc. Can you describe what your pain is and what triggered it?
We focus on natural solutions, use red light therapy. Possible alpha lipoic acid infusion especially for neuropathy
You can try acupuncture treatment.

Acupuncture can help with nerve pain. In the meantime, try ice on it.
It depends on what is causing your nerve pain. I encourage you to get acupuncture.
Acupuncture, combined with massage and herbs, can help relieve nerve pain gradually.
From the perspective of Chinese medicine and acupuncture, the problem with these types of question is: only knowing a patient has nerve pain in the hand doesn't give me nearly enough information to know how I'm going to attempt to treat. I don't know what's wrong from either the standpoint of Chinese medicine or the standpoint of conventional medicine. Do you have nerve damage? Is there an impingement in the elbow or shoulder? Is there a problem with the disks and/or vertebrae in the neck? Is this carpal tunnel? Is it something else entirely and it only appears as though it's nerve pain? Without having some idea why this pain exists, I have no idea how I'm going to attempt to reduce or eliminate the issue.

In my experience, there are certain kinds of issue where the best solution is surgery. I don't know if your problem rises to this level of intervention.

Also in my experience, there are certain kinds of issue where acupuncture and Chinese medicine can provide significant relief, but the patient is probably looking at some form of long term maintenance - maybe monthly treatment, maybe a couple of times per year. Again, I don't know if your issue puts you in this space.

In my experience, there are other kind of issue where acupuncture and Chinese medicine can provide an apparently permanent fix. Don't know if this is where you are.

Lastly, in my experience, there are some issues where patients make the best progress using some combination of Chinese medicine and conventional medicine. And I have no idea if this is where you are.

Here's what I can tell you. The science behind acupuncture's effectiveness in pain management is virtually overwhelming. If a patient has any kind of pain, anywhere on the body, they are usually better off in the long run trying acupuncture first. If 3-5 sessions of acupuncture doesn't improve the problem then move on to other pain management options or consider combining acupuncture with some other pain management modality.

It's also important to understand that there are dramatically different training levels among providers offering 'acupuncture-like' services. For the best possible outcome you want to see someone who attended and graduated from a school of Chinese medicine, is nationally board certified in acupuncture, and is licensed by your state as an acupuncturist. Generally speaking, chiropractors and physical therapists do not have these qualifications and credentials. To find nationally board certified acupuncturists in your area, go to NCCAOM.org and use their 'Find a Practitioner' lookup.
