Sports Medicine Specialist Questions CBD Oil

Can CBD oil help with muscle strain?

I strained my muscle while working out the other day and I'm looking for a way to treat it without using anything pharmaceutical. I want to try CBD oil. Is it effective for muscle strains?

Currently there is no high value research to support or debunk the notion that CBD oil will help. Anecdotally, I've seen it help some athletes but it appears to be more of a placebo effect then actual cellular benefits.
It’s worth a try.

I haven’t seen a quality studies reviewing it but there is limited to no downside.

Arnica cream is very helpful.
No
Not sure but it's OK to try. Not likely to cause any problems other than a rash if used topically
CBD oil essentially decreases pain but likely won't be strong enough. Also be careful of positive THC/marijuana tests. Muscle strains benefit from proper diagnosis, rest, physical therapy and sometimes injections (regenerative medicine).
Not great science with CBD. That said, I see that it generally will help. And, I see really no downside to it. Bigger question is why is it strained? Is something out of alignment? Is there a muscle imbalance?
Anecdotal evidence suggests CBD may help but no proven scientific studies to date.
