Pulmonologist Questions Pulmonary Hypertension

Is there a permanent cure for pulmonary hypertension?

I am a 36-year-old man and I am suffering from pulmonary hypertension from the last two years. It is a disease that runs in my family. Is there a permanent cure for this disease or will it only have to be managed with medication.

THE ANSWER IS DEPENDENT UPON THE REASON BEHIND THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELEVATED PRESSURES; SOME ETIOLOGIES, SUCH AS THROMBOEMBOLIC DISEASE MAY HAVE SURGICAL SOLUTIONS THAT PERMANENTLY REMOVE CAUSATIVE FACTORS, THUS "CURING" IT, MANY OTHER REASONS HOWEVER DO NOT CARE CURES AS SUCH, BUT MANAGEMENT MANAGEMENT PLAN CAN BE DEVELOPED WITH HELP OF PULMONARY SPECIALIST.
There are several types of pulmonary hypertension. To date, there is no cure for most of them. Only the one caused by multiple clots in the lungs, can get better if the clots are surgically removed (very difficult surgery). Otherwise, medications have changed radically the way one lives with this disease and in most cases slow it down, if not stop it in its tracks. Medications are also getting better every day, and the medical community gets a better in using the combination of medications. Hang in there. There may be a breakthrough soon enough.
