Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT) Questions Ear-Nose and Throat Doctor (ENT)

Why can't anyone diagnose my Dad correctly?

My Dad is 83 and has developed a condition in which he has continuous nasal congestion ONLY when his head is vertical. When he reclines back or lays down, it goes away completely. The doctors he has seen thus far say it is "allergies", but it is not. Allergies don't change with head position - I know because I have had them my whole life. Can you help?

It could be a Patulous Eustachian tube. Has he had any imaging studies, like a CT or MRI?
Could be vasomotor rhinitis. Try Atrovent nasal spray
