“Why do my teeth look darker near the gum line?”
I am a 24 year old male. I noticed that my teeth look darker near the gum line. What could be the cause?

The enamel of your teeth is thinnest at the gumline. Also, enamel meets the cementum, or outer layer of the root of your tooth, at the gumline. The cementum is much darker than enamel and can overshadow the enamel, making the tooth appear darker in this area
The dentin (second layer) of the teeth shows through more as you get closer to the gum line. Other reasons can be recession of the gums that expose the root surface. Whitening products can help, but also cause sensitivity.
