Can seasonal allergies cause fever?

I have seasonal allergies and I have fever. Can seasonal allergies cause fever?

1 Answer

Some patients may feel "feverish" when experiencing active seasonal rhinitis symptoms. Low grade fever at times maybe present but dramatic elevations in temperature - above 101 degree F is unlikely to be related to allergies alone. if the fever is high or remains elevated despite medications like Tylenol or Ibuprofen would suggest seeing your PCP as you may have an infection.  Hope that helps  Monika Korff, MDFACAAIoffice-410-730-6000www.allergyasthmamaryland.com
