Do they give you local anesthesia for a bone marrow biopsy?

You will receive IV sedation and a local anesthetic, and after the procedure you will be taken to a recovery area. Plan to have someone to drive you back home. You can continue your daily activities as soon as you feel adequate. However, it is recommended not submerging the skin area of biopsy in water (no swimming or wetting the area), and not strenuous exercises for at least a week. Please, check with your healthcare provider. Thank you.
