I have to take metronidazole. The doctor that prescribed it to me said she can’t prescribe enough for my spouse also. Is she supposed to prescribe him some as well?

It depends on what you are being treated for. if it is bacterial vaginosis, then no. if it is trichomoniasis then yes.

The doctor is correct as you in this case are the patient and not your spouse. Although I understand your perspective and concern, it's imperative that your spouse also be treated. Because you have been examined and received a diagnosis, if your spouse does not want an exam he can go to an online prescriber to have the prescription called into your local pharmacy.
