Pulmonologist Questions Breathing Problems

Weird feeling when I breathe, what is it?

Regular breathing feels normal, but whenever I take a deep breath, there's what I can describe as a crackling feeling. I recently had a physical and my doctor said she didn't hear anything abnormal in my breathing so I'm confused. What could it be?

Sometimes after you have been still for awhile, as in lying down, the bases or posterior of the lungs can be compressed and, as they open up with big breaths, they may feel like they are crackling. If your doc hears crackles and has you take a deep breath or cough, these benign sounds go away.
