If it is simple wrist surgery such as carpal tunnel syndrome, I recommend foolproof (I chose this myself. For more complex wrist surgery, you can choose either regional anesthesia (a block) or GA, or both. The additional the peripheral block will give enhanced postoperative pain relief. Specific of the block depend on what the specific surgery is.
