After burn sunlight effects and harm prevention?

My father was burned a few years ago in an explosion. He has been out it the some for short periods at a time but tans really well. He is not one to cover up or wear sunscreen. I was wondering how the UV levels from the sun will affect his burned areas.

Hi, and yes, many men don't take well to sunscreen.  As for your dad: burned areas are more prone to developing skin cancer, even without sun exposure. So, definitely urge him to use a high SPF sunscreen when in the sun.
