Kudos to you for recognizing that you have anxiety. It is normal and natural to experience anxiety. However, when it is affecting the functioning of your daily life and you feel it is getting out of control, I recommend seeking help from a mental health specialist. There are many types of anxiety and a specialist can help you better understand and address your anxiety based on your requirements. Medications can be taken if that is the recommended option and you would like to take them.

Of note, this is just an opinion. I recommend seeking a services of a mental health provider. If you are experiencing any thoughts of self harm or concerning symptoms I highly recommend calling 911 or going to the nearest ER immediately
Medications are very useful with anxiety. There are medications used to help alleviate the sudden onset of symptoms and medications that are used to prevent the symptoms from happening at all.
