I am obese. Can psychiatrists help with obesity?

Yes, psychiatrists can and do help with treating obesity. In my private practice in fact, I treat patients with obesity with a combination of a behavioral approach and medication.
A psychiatrist can help if there is an emotional cause of over-eating or bing eating. Unfortunately, that doesn't help the metabolic causes of obesity. I would recommend including a bariatric physician in your journey for the best success. You can find one near you by going to: https://obesitymedicine.org/find-obesity-treatment/

Good luck with your journey. I battle obesity and the greatest drug in the world is feeling good and feeling good about yourself. Does it take work? Yes! Is it worth it? Absolutely!
