Help.. Will this space close in two weeks?

I had an appointment with my ortho yesterday (12/3/22) and I had let her know that there was a slight space when I bite (please see picture) -- it is only on the left side of my mouth, not right. We changed the patterns of my elastics (Class 2 Box on Upper 3, 4 Lower 4, 5) and she let me know that in two weeks we are going to do a scan for my retainers. After my scan, it takes 3-4 weeks for the retainers to come in, and then my braces will be taken off.

My only concern is.. will the space actually close within two weeks?

It may close if you are really good about wearing your rubber bands
The Space that you are seeing is that teeth needs posterior settlement. In order to accomplish that the patient has to be extremely compliant and wear the elastics as instructed full time. If the elastics did not do the job you have several options: one is on repositioning the brackets slightly higher on the tooth in order to extrude the tooth and get a better fit with the use of the wires and orthodontic mechanics. Second, you can continue wearing the same elastics for more time until the bite gets to the desire position and third, remove the braces and give you retainers and let the posterior teeth settle down with time and have regular control visita with your Orthodontist yo track the case.
Yes that is possible. I hope it all worked out for you now and you love your smile and continue to wear your retainers.
This is a tough question to answer. I generally tell my patients that teeth move around 1 mm per month. If you are diligent with your elastics and your orthodontist feels it will close then I would trust their judgement. If you feel like the space is still open at your last visit, mention it to your orthodontist.
It's difficult to tell as it depends on the force that your doctor is using and the teeth and how they respond to the treatment.
Hi!
Thank for your question. Yes, the mild space should close if the force of the elastic is enough, if you are wearing the elastics as prescribed, and when the bite settle down after braces removed. Good luck and congratulations on almost finishing you orthodontic treatment!
Hello! Yes, if you wear elastics as instructed, the space should be closed or greatly decreased. And teeth will continue to move into a better bite with retainers too it is called settling. Usually, the bite feels quite comfortable 3-6 month after removing the braces. Everything is looking pretty good on the picture.

It’s possible that inter occlusal space might
Close in two week but there is no guarantee. You should wear your elastics
24/7 without taking breaks.
