Hit in the eye by my dog?

My small dog hit me in the eye around 12 hours ago, and I didn’t wash it out immediately. I’ve felt discomfort since then as if something is in my eye. It doesn’t look scratched, and it has been too red, but tears up every once in a while. Don’t have medical insurance so I’m wondering if this is a huge concern and if this could be a possible eye infection.

It could be an abrasion so please get your eye examined by an eye doctor.
Because you are a diabetic you need to be more careful. If your eye is still tearing or red, you need to see an eye doctor. Sometimes, after you have something in your eye, you may have a persistent feeling that something is in your eye, it will go away. Nothing to worry about if the eye is not red or it is hurting.
Go to the pharmacy, get an antibiotic or antibiotic ointment and apply over the bite. Anyway give it a wash with soap and water. Try for a day. If it's not better, see a GP.
Even if it doesn't look scratched, there could be an abrasion of the surface of the Cornes. This could become a corneal ulcer if it gets infected before it heals. Additionally, you are at greater risk of infection due to the diabetes. GET EVALUATED AND TREATED.
Most likely you have a corneal abrasion. These usually heal within 24 hours. If, after such time, you still have pain or a foreign body feeling, you will need a slit lamp exam by an eye specialist.
