After radiotherapy, it is generally recommended to avoid strenuous physical activities, prolonged sun exposure, swimming in chlorinated pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, tight or restrictive clothing, harsh skin products, smoking, and excessive alcohol consumption. Hello,

You are asking what activities to avoid following radiotherapy. The answer to this question depends on the area being irradiated. All normal tissue can be effected by radiation. Small areas such as peripheral bones may have no side effects. Larger areas such as lungs or abdomen may become inflamed and shortness of breath or diarrhea can occur. Radiation also may cause fatigue or tiredness requiring a patient to nap during the course of radiation.

I would suggest that you ask this question of the radiation oncologist who is treating you. This person can give you instruction on recommended activities during treatment.

Good luck
