What could cause ankle swelling?

I have ankle swelling after running. It does not hurt. What could be the cause?

Many things can cause painless lower leg and ankle swelling with running. Improper fitting shoes, weak muscles, poor circulation, shin splints can all potentially be the cause.
Hi! many times it is due to circulation. You can try compression socks as long as you don't have a preexisting heart condition (if you did you would need to ask the cardiologist first)
Usually a problem has causes such as circulation, metabolic, structure, neurological, and muscle.

A number of things can cause ankle swelling. Among these are a sprain/contusion to the ankle, venous insufficiency, Congestive Heart Failure, and other medical issues. The most likely cause is Venous insufficiency
