What pain medications are safe for taking for gastritis?

I have gastritis and it hurts. What pain medications are safe for taking for gastritis?

Typically when gastritis is involved, it is advisable to avoid anti-inflammatories. There are a few anti-inflammatory medications that are more gentle on the stomach though. If pain medicine is needed, then it should be provided with routine follow up with you pain provider communicating with your GI doctor. If you don't already have a GI doctor, then you should seek one out.
Many abdominal pains are blamed on "gastritis" but often there is another explanation. But if this is really acute gastritis causing pain, then almost every pain med is safe, e.g. ibuprofen (in combination with an antiacid), tylenol, narcotics, etc.
