When can I walk normal after ankle dislocation?

I dislocated my ankle yesterday. When can I walk normal after ankle dislocation?

It depends on what structures were affected by the dislocation. Other tears, ligaments, joint capsule or even  tendons. A thorough evaluation is needed and this will determine the length  of time of the immobilization or other treatment modalities. Jonathan M. A complete ankle dislocation usually involves ligamentous strains or tears which require the use of immobilization with a cam walker or an ankle brace to stabilize the joint to allow healing to occur. Should one require surgical intervention I always recommend looking into regenerative medicine options 1st which can restore the joint to its previous structure and function without the need for surgery.
This will depend on what is involved to re locate the ankle and healing of the trauma. I recommend you discuss with the treating physician for your particular case.
You will need to ask your surgeon about when he would like you to begin physical therapy after such an injury, and at what point you will be medically able to bear full weight and walk normally after such an injury.
