When should I start getting concerned about my weight?

In recent months I have gained some extra weight and developed a tummy. I am now 165 pounds and 5”6. Ultimately, I was wondering if the extra pounds were a concern to my health?

It isn't as much the scale that would concern me, but it is the increased fat around the middle indicating that your visceral fat is increasing. Generally, if you take a tape measure and measure the circumference of your abdomen at the level of your belly button, it should be 1/2 your height in inches or less. If it is greater, as a rule, then be concerned. Always follow proper nutrition of protein (animal protein is the most nutritious) and limit carbs. I am a big advocate of avoiding sugar and wheat, as well as staying away from fast food and processed food. You can always go online and find a good bariatric physician at: https://obesitymedicine.org/find-obesity-treatment/ and they can work with you as well.
