Can a high fever cause brain damage?

I am a 21 year old male. I want to know if a high fever can cause brain damage?

Yes. Temperatures higher than 105-106 or so, especially if prolonged, can cause brain damage. And it is well known that HEAT STROKE, which is the neurological deterioration associated with high temperatures combined with dehydration and frequently also associated with strenuous physical effort in the heat, muscle enzyme elevation, and sometimes kidney damage. If severe and prolonged without timely and sufficient rehydration and cooling, it can be fatal.
