Why do I have Brachydactyly when my family doesn't?

I have brachydactyly type D, which is clearly visible. It is a genetic mutation, but my parents and their parents don't have it. How is it possible?

There might be several reasons behind why other family members do not have brachydactyly. I recommend meeting with your healthcare provider to review the genetic results.
