Getting rid of sugar can help you sleep
Do you ever have trouble sleeping but you can't quite figure out what the problem is? It may be sugar. One out of three Americans claim to suffer from insomnia, which can be caused by plenty of varying factors. However, sugar definitely accounts for some of that tossing and turning. If you have a blood sugar issue, sleep is often interrupted or unattained, often caused by simple carbs or refined sugar. So, if you want to get back to falling asleep as soon as your head hits the pillow, and that deep sleep once it does, keep sugar away. Even if you aren't going to take the plunge to completely eliminate sugar from your diet, make sure to stay away from it at night. Unbalanced blood sugar levels that rise and fall and the ensuing sleep problems create a cycle of health issues that can be difficult to escape from.
