4. Jimi Hendrix

Musician Jimi Hendrix wowed audiences with his incredible talent singing and playing the guitar. In the 1960s, the innovative artist became famous for his unbelievable electric guitar solos and unique, experimental sound. Some people consider the rock legend one of the greatest guitarists of his generation, and possibly of all-time. His performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Woodstock in 1969 has gone down in history as one of the most iconic moments of the 1960s. We will never know how much more the talented singer-songwriter could have achieved if his life wasn’t tragically cut short by drug addiction.

Hendrix’s massive fame, exhausting lifestyle, and drug use caught up with him. In 1970, the legendary rock star was found dead in London. He had choked to death on his own vomit because of drug intoxication. Hendrix’s legacy lives on, but his untimely death was an unforgettable tragedy.
