7. Nicole Johnson
Former beauty queen and Miss America Nicole Johnson also has type 1 diabetes. When she competed for the Miss America pageant, she was the first contestant to wear an insulin pump while competing. She now serves the Tampa Bay chapters of the American Diabetes Association and the JDRF.
