Nick Cannon on Living with Lupus: "Take it One Day at a Time."

Shannon Boxx was diagnosed while playing for the U.S. National Soccer Teams

While playing for the US National Team, Gold medal winning soccer player Shannon Box was diagnosed in 2007 at 30 years old. She experienced symptoms with fatigue, join pain, and muscle soreness. Though she was diagnosed with lupus in 2007, she didn't express her diagnosis publicly until 2012 and worked with the Lupus Foundation of America to help raise money for research and spread awareness of the disease. While looking for the right medication, Boxx struggled through her training sessions, but completed them through her own will. She currently takes medication that reduces the number of flare-ups she experiences and the amount of inflammation in her body.
