There is no cure for the disorder but there are a number of treatments. For those with mild to moderate sleep apnea, eliminating alcohol and sleep medications can help. Others may find a big improvement with their sleep apnea once they lose weight or change positions in their sleep. There is even a cheap and simple trick that patients can use: Sewing a tennis ball to the back of your pajama pants can prevent you from rolling onto your back in your sleep.
For more severe cases, patients may not benefit from holistic treatment options and must treat their disorder with a CPAP machine.
