Beyond Alzheimer's impacts patients like Mark Donham
Mark Donham’s wife, Chris, had early onset Alzheimer’s. To take care of her, he quit his job and became a 24-hour caregiver. Alzheimer’s slowly progresses, but it continues to get worse. Eventually Chris stopped knowing who he was and he was truly heartbroken.
The stress and strain of caregiving caused Mr. Donham to visit the emergency room thinking he was having a heart attack. Feeling like you are having a medical episode is not an uncommon situation. After Mr. Donham’s wife passed away, he found himself financially and emotionally spent.
