Shannen Doherty Discusses Her Breast Reconstruction Surgery
She hopes to inspire other women living with cancer
Doherty unveils being self-conscious about her appearance, but above all, she hopes to inspire others to keep slaying cancer. “I wanted to put it out there the way it felt the best for me to put it out there. And also, if I could help one person then it makes me go, ‘Oh OK.’ It’s easier to live with having cancer if I know I’m helping at least one person,” she said. While she is currently healthy and in remission, Doherty admits that she fears her cancer could return at some point throughout the course of her life. “I can’t imagine how it must feel to beat back cancer only to have it return again. For now, I stay positive, stay healthy and do what I can to help promote research so that cancer can be beaten once and for all,” she said.
