Women and minorities have a higher risk for developing lupus.
While anyone can develop lupus, there is a large percentage of patients who are female. This disease also seems to target minority women, including African-American, Asian-American and Latina women.
Symptoms appear between the ages of 15 and 44 and affect each victim differently. Some may find themselves suddenly unable to handle the sun, while others might feel awful after eating rich food or having an unhealthy snack.
