Jordan Morris is a role model for kids and diabetics.
As a Sounder, Morris is a role model for kids and especially for those who have diabetes. He looked up to Adam Morrison and Jay Cutler for their diabetic management as professional athletes, and Morris hopes he can give that same hope to up and coming athletes with diabetes.
Morris says the main reason diabetes gets annoying is the fact that he must think about his condition all the time. Morris would instead love to think about other things, but he realizes that diabetes is a part of his life. He states, “God gave it to me for a reason. I am going to go out and inspire younger diabetics.”
Jordan Morris goes on to say, “When I was a kid, I told myself I wasn’t going to let it hold me back, and now that my dreams become a reality, it’s pretty special to see that that’s happened. I think it taught me how to be responsible at such a young age. I had to deal with this disease that you have to be constantly aware of. I definitely don’t think I’d be the person I am today without it.”
