4. You eat near your fridge
When you’re dieting, your fridge can either be your best friend or your worst enemy. If your fridge is stocked with lots of healthy options for nutritious meals and snacks, you’ll have plenty of great choices whenever you’re feeling hungry. However, eating near the fridge can be problematic if you’re trying to lose weight. If you’re staring at all the other food in your fridge instead of focusing on what you’re currently eating, you’re more likely to overeat because you’re eating while you’re distracted.
It’s better to only go to the fridge when you need to grab what you’re about to eat, then sit down for your meal elsewhere. Mindlessly eating in front of the fridge is setting yourself up for overeating and weight gain. Also, be sure to organize your fridge so that healthy foods are clearly visible and easily accessible. Clean out any tempting, unhealthy foods that might sabotage your diet if you spot them in the fridge. Planning your meals in advance is also a great way to avoid overeating near the fridge.
