Baked snacks healthier than fried ones?
Marketing has spread the popular belief of baked snacks being healthier than fried ones due to the lack of vegetable oil. Little do people know both types of snacks share the same number of calories. Instead of saturated fats baked snacks contain a lot of sodium to make up for the lack of flavor. The truth is that baked snacks have a higher amount of starchy carbohydrates which are way worse than vegetable oil. This case is very common, especially with potato chips (which people usually think are healthier than other snacks because they lack artificial coloring). In case of having or wanting to eat chips, the best option is having a small portion of the fried ones instead of the baked ones.
