Type 2 Diabetes : Coffee

Coffee

Keep it simple with a cup a day of black coffee, or with very little added sugar, cream, or half-n-half. Coffee may have health benefits on its own. Studies have correlated coffee consumption with a decreased risk of multiple well-known diseases- including diabetes. In addition, the caffeine it contains is a known diuretic, meaning it temporarily increases blood pressure and urination, and it is a mild laxative. In excess, health concerns such as irregular heartbeat and diarrhea may occur, but these disadvantages wouldn’t happen with just a cup. A rousing 12 ounce mug in the morning won’t hurt, and it certainly makes waking up easier.
