Grocery List Alert for Diabetics

Pay extra attention to labels on sauces, salad dressing, and oil

Sauces, salad dressing, and oils are used to create tasty dishes, but be careful and read the labels. Many sauces are high in sodium and sugar, so try to look for sugar-free options.  Tomato sauces, mustard, barbecue sauce and red wine vinegar are excellent choices. Jarred capers and olives plus extra virgin olive oils and nonfat cooking sprays are good. Throw in a couple of jars of hot pepper sauce and salsa. Make sure to also choose light mayonnaise rather than high-fat condiments.
