How Foods and Fats Can Impact Crohn's Disease

People with Crohn's should avoid animal fats

“Animal fats are more often difficult for people with Crohn’s disease to digest, so they frequently worsen symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhea and fecal emergency.  People who eat more plants and fatty fish have been shown to live longer, healthier lives and have a reduced risk of flares.” Says Colleen D. Webb, RDN, a nutritionist at the Jill Roberts Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City.
