The Gluten-Free Verdict on Quaker Oats and General Mills

Even oatmeal that is made from whole oats have a small percentage of gluten

Most oatmeal found in supermarkets is made from whole oats. This means that even with a small 4 percent gluten contamination, products made from these whole oats can contain pockets of gluten contamination that can put a bowl of oatmeal far above the 20 ppm limit.

Since Quaker lacks a sorting process for eliminating or reducing gluten contamination in its raw purity protocol, the problem of small particles of wheat, rye and barley in the final products still remains.
