Consumption of Trans Fats should be avoided

The Food and Drug Administration required food companies to put the amount of trans fats on their nutrition labels in 2006. It is because studies concluded that people who consume foods with much trans fats are at more risk of having higher levels of C-reactive protein, which is an indicator of the presence of inflammation in the body. Therefore, people should always read food labels and steer away from food products that have the words “hydrogenated” or “partially hydrogenated.” Some examples of foods that possibly have trans fats are crackers, some margarine products, vegetable shortenings, and cookies.
