In an ideal world everyone would meal prep.  No one would waste food and every meal would be nutritious.  In reality eating out happens.  There are days that eating out is the only way to survive.  A long day at work, a stressful day with the family, or simply just to splurge.  Eating out does not have to go away.

Instead, look for places that have a wide variety of gluten-free options.  There are many restaurants that are willing to change meals to accommodate those with gluten intolerance.  Find the places that do not make it seem like a hassle for them.  These go-to places are great for the days where there is not energy to cook.
