Hi,

From my experience, 8-year-olds do not typically have neck pain. First, I would rule out anything from a traditional medical professional (meningitis, infection, etc.). If you have already done this, then bring him in for a chiropractic examination. They will check his range of motion of this neck, posture, neurological reflexes, muscles strength, palpation etc., and determine if they can help. Also, they will advise on better sleeping positions and stretches you can help him do at home. Sometimes subluxations or misalignments can happen years before pain is experienced, so review his history and relay that to the chiropractic physician.

I'm so sorry to hear that you are exhausted and in pain. My suggestion is to get looked by a chiropractor who can assess what is going on for your pain. This may contribute to your exhaustion level. Some chiropractors also look at nutrition and supplements to heal the body. Make sure you have the blood work to show your holistic physician or chiropractor to rule out or in certain problems/ diagnosis. Adrenal fatigue is something that comes to mind. They can give you supplements to help combat it. Also, they should look at your diet and see if it is causing inflammation and further adrenal stress or what ever you may need to assist in your healing. Furthermore, think hydration, sunshine and very light movement (walking outside for 5 minutes) until your body starts to repair and you are able to do more. At that time when you are stronger, physical therapy may be beneficial.

Hi Mom,

Yes, you should absolutely bring him to get a chiropractic examination. During the exam, his biomechanics will be analyzed, individual muscles will be checked to see which are weak or strong, range of motion in different planes will be evaluated, as well as neurological reflexes. Most likely due to the length of time and injury based problem an X-ray ordered. He also will looked at for compensation problems and or extremities that may be involved (i.e., knee, ankle foot, hip). Every professional sports team has a chiropractor for a reason. It helps improve injuries as well as performance.
Good luck
