Born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Charles B. Hunter attended Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans, where he graduated with honors. He was then accepted into Georgetown University School of Medicine, earning his medical degree four years later. From there, he completed his residency in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University, where he decided he wanted to specialize in kidney disease. He then went on to complete his fellowship in nephrology at the University of California at San Francisco. On a more personal note, in Dr. Hunter’s free time, he enjoys music, reading, travel, and spending time with his family.
