There appears to be a difference in the size of the tonsils and there is whitish material on the right tonsil which enlarged. The image of the left tonsil is less clear. Not knowing about your symptoms, I would answer your question this way: "not necessarily". Having stated that, an evaluation first by your primary care doctor and then if needed an ENT specialist is justified. I hope this helps.
