See a doctor of chiropractic that offers Foot Levelers custom orthotics. These are the best on the market. A computerized scan is performed on each foot and it is designed specifically for the type of shoe that you wear. I suggest you get it designed for the shoes that you wear at least 80% of the time because they are not interchangeable with different ones. This month, I believe the company is running a special buy one pair and the second is half price. I have been wearing them myself for the last 6 years and have only had to replace them once. Excellent product. We recommend them to all of our patients. www.footlevelers.com

You can't "crack" your back like a chiropractor. Chiropractors spend several years studying and training to be able to perfect and hone their technique skills in the art of performing the specific chiropractic adjustment, i.e., CMT chiropractic manipulative technique. A person that attempts to "crack" their own spine or have a friend do it is running a very high risk of injury, possibly permanent. Also, bones don't crack unless they are breaking. The sound heard from adjusting the spine is called an audible which is caused by the movement of the synovial fluid, the natural lubricant inside the joint. FYI: Don't use the term "crack my back" to a chiropractor. They find it offensive and derogatory. Especially since they have spent seven years in college and over $250,000.00 to obtain their degree and license. They are the only specialist in their field.

Several things. Not only relief of her neck pain but improved posture, increased energy level, and improved sleep. Studies have also shown that regular chiropractic care improves immune system response, cognitive skills and coordination. A junior high baseball player I once treated couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with a bat. After a few treatments, his batting and fielding improved until he became one of the best players on his team. Hit a home run every game. He made his mother bring him for an adjustment before each game.

There are several techniques for adjusting the pelvic area. The two most commonly used are Gonstead and Thompson. Both are hands on. The chiropractor analyzes the pelvic area to determine the listing, i.e., type of misalignment then places his/her hands on the correct contact point of the articulation, i.e., joint. They would then use the appropriate line of drive with the correct amount of pressure and thrust to realign the pelvis. It is a very simple and painless maneuver.

This is usually caused by unequal weight bearing due to one leg being shorter than the other lending to tilting and rotation of the lower spine and pelvis. There are two types of short leg syndrome. Anatomical and functional i.e. acquired. Anatomical is not very common. It is when, during the developmental and growth phase, one log actually grows longer than the other which can be corrected the majority of times with a heel lift. The functional or acquired short leg is the most common and is caused by musculoskeletal imbalance. This can be corrected fairly easily with regular chiropractic treatment in conjunction with core strengthening exercises. If the condition goes untreated it can lead to the development of lower back, hip and leg pain. It also predisposes the person to the possible formation of spinal curvature and scoliosis.

Two things. Avoid heavy lifting, and don't have anything in your back pocket thicker than a handkerchief. When you sit on something like a wallet, it causes the pelvis to project forward on that side lending to sacroiliac joint misalignment and spinal rotation. The sciatic nerve passes over this joint on its way down the leg. If this joint is misaligned it causes muscle and ligament contraction that will irritate the sciatic nerve. Avoid heavy lifting because it could also be a lumbar disc problem. See a chiropractor before it gets worse and it will. Medication may help for awhile, but it will come back.
