There is an over the counter cough syrup found at just about every Asian supermarket called Pei Pa Koa that is excellent for chronic coughs of all sorts. I also use Lomatium dissectum, an excellent anti-viral herb for treating any acute viral infection. But you should consult both your doctor and pharmacist to make sure these medicines are safe for you.
