If you are not ovulating, no. I don’t know if you can be sure you are not ovulating, but may do a pregnancy test to be sure. The plan B should however work.

It is commonly done with TL but not necessarily. The ablation has a rare chance for pregnancy only. Unlikely at 49yo but I would probably do a pregnancy test to be sure.

If it has been a year you might want to consult your physician. Some things I do Is HSG where you put dye through the tubes to be sure they are open. Check his semen analysis to check the count. PK test ( after intercourse test to see if the Sperm are getting to the cervix. There is some online help to chart temps & with others (Fertility Friend). Has offered help too. Usually after one year, I start doing some test if you are actively seeking pregnancy

I would be a good thought just to have a doctor visit to see why your cycles are irregular. You might want to check lab like thyroid studies, & prolactin.

Ovulation can certainly be irregular if ovulating. That in itself may affect your breast desires feeding. Also, at 41yo, your risk for miscarriage is generally higher. How long will you be breast feeding? You need to be on prenatal vitamins firing this time also. I encourage breast feeding, but cycles may be more predictable if you were not & maybe could have a better plan for the progesterone.

I would think ok if the patch is directly applied to the skin.
