Janice Alexander, MD, FACOG, FAAFP is an Obstetrician-Gynecologist, practicing at the Richland Medical Center in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Richland Medical Center is a full-service primary care clinic that provides a wide range of services, from family medicine to orthopedic surgery to podiatry. Aside from their in-house physicians, Richland Medical Center also utilizes visiting physicians in order to provide the most comprehensive care experience.
Dr. Alexander had a fulfilling career as a nurse before she became a doctor. After volunteering with Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, she worked as a nurse’s aide and LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse), in Dearborn, Michigan.
Dr. Alexander then earned her BSN at Wayne State University, and then started her University of Michigan in Ann Arbor pre-med education while simultaneously working as an ICU nurse. She returned back to Wayne State, and would earn her medical degree there. Today, she continues to interact with their medical community through service on their Alumni Board.
In addition to performing standard, routine gynecological care, Dr. Alexander also sees high-risk obstetric patients. High-risk pregnancy puts the mother and unborn child in danger of developing medical issues, so Dr. Alexander takes special attention to treat her patients with focused and compassionate care.
Aside from medicine, she is also devoted to missionary work. Dr. Alexander led an expedition to Tanzania, E. Africa, to build a clinic, hospital, and school. She visits on an annual basis to ensure each patient is receiving adequate care and education. She has also volunteered as a choir director and church organist, and is dedicated to all of the different communities she serves.
