Hi, thank you for asking the question. Basically, you should avoid chewing on the tooth, which will receive Endo treatment, before and after the treatment. If that particular tooth needs a crown, then wait until a crown is installed/ placed before eating/chewing on it. If that tooth had already had a crown and there is no recurrent decay under & around the margins of the crown, then you can eat normally after endo treatment. However, you can still brush and floss the tooth as usual. God bless you !

Thank you for asking the question! Typically, it takes about anywhere from 5 to ten business days for an "out side " dental laboratory to fabricate a crown. Nowadays, some dental offices has the " In house " 3 D crown printing machine, in which you can get your crown seated literally in the same day. We used to have the 3D crown printinf machine " in house". However, due to the high maintennce cost, we get rid of it. Blessings to you!

Hi, thank you for asking this question! Yes, one can use waterpick with partial dentures. However, in order to be able to clean your teeth and your gum properly and thoroughly, I will inform all of my patients to remove all partial dentures out of their mouth first. This way, one can properly FLOOS, BRUSH and then use Waterpik at the end. In addition, if a dental patient has history of periodontal ( gum ) desease, she/he may also need to use presceiption mouthwash and maybe even Doxcycline (20mg) antibiotics twice daily to control the health of their gum. In conslusion, never use the Waterpik while you are wearing the partial denture in your mouth. Hope that this will help.

Hi, it depends on the health condition of your teeth, your gum and how a patient use his/ her partial. Under normal usage, wearing and tearing, a partial denture will last any where 5 -10 years. I see some patients' partial last only 2-3 yeras bacuae of poor condition of theeth and gum. on t he other hands, I see some patients 's partial denture last over 10 years when they have good teeth and healthy gum.

Hi,Depending on how do you compare root canal to what other dental procedure(s), A root canal treatment is NOT serious comparing to oral surgery procedure(s). Individual needs root canal treatment for various reasons, which I have already explained to another reader in my previous response. Hello, The sole purpose for a root canal treatment is to preserve and save a tooth / teeth. Unless there is presence of excessive damage of a tooth from trauma or caries insult, A root canal treatment does not cause additional damage to a tooth. A dentist, or an endodontist, is supposed to trained to conservatively access a tooth when he /she perform a root canal procedure. However, and unfortunately, I personally eye-witnessed that there are a small number of dental providers inadvertently " damaged" a significant amount of tooth structure in the process of performing root canal procedure to a point that it undermined the remaining healthy structure of a tooth. So, be cautious and be careful when you choose your dentist ! Hope that will help!

To be honest, without examining your dental condition, it is difficult for me to tell what is/are the source of problem(s). To answer your question partially, I would like to take a look at your recent dental x-rays on tooth/ teeth that causing you pain. Secondly, what type of pain do you experience? (3) Is/are you teeth hurt when you chew/ eat food ? Is your tooth / teeth sensitive to hard and/or soft food? (4) Is/are you teeth sensitive to both cold and hot temperature food /liquid? (5) Are there any swelling on your gum around the tooth / teeth that hurt? ( Is there an existing large filling on the tooth that hurt? Generally speaking, most commonly used dental local anesthetics are good for most dental patients. However, depends on the medical health conditions of each individual, certain types of local anesthetics will works better for certain patients. If you are asking what drinks are okay after a dental implant surgery, then My answer to you is that a patient should NOT consume any alcoholic beverage after a implant surgery. Alcohol will dissolve blood clot, which will result in causing prolong bleeding. It will interfere with proper clotting and healing of the surgical site. In other word, it will affect the healing of the implant site, will cause the failing of the implant. However, You should only drink non-alcoholic, non-acidic beverages until the surgical site completely heals. Hope that it will help. God bless you!

Thank you for asking the questions! Depending on the extends of your dental implant surgery ( for example, how many tooth / teeth is / are being removed ? Is the patient need bone grafting on the same visit where the implant is placed at the same time? How many implant(s) did you received on the day of the surgery. Were you taking any blood thinner medications? Di you follow the post-operative instructions prpperly? and etc.) It is NOT uncommon and not unsual to have a small amount of oozing, or bleeding 2 days after the implant surgery. The important things you need to do are (i) make sure you do not take any blood thinning medications two days before and two days after the surgery. Do NOT perform any exercise. DO NOT use straw to drink. DO NOT smoke. DO NOT use any mouthwash that conatins alcohol. DO NOT brush the surgical area. DO NOT spit.Other the other hands, please-DO keep the gauze in the surgical site and maintain heavy pressure, which will stop bleeding in 2-4 hours for most people. Change the gauze once every hour.-Take some calcium suppliment ( about 400mg daily), which promote bone fromation. -Do take Vitamin B complex and Vitamine C, which promote blood capilary walls formation abd healing.- Have you tried to placea wet tea bag over the surgical site and apply pressure onto it. Tea has ingredient that also helps to promote clotting. If you ahve tried all of the above methods and you still have bleeding, I would suggest that you call your dental surgeon right away and let him/her take a look at it ASAP. Thank you for asking such a good questions! Teeth will get straignten up after the Invsalign treatment. However, you need to wear the retainers at night time pretty much for the rest of you life in order to keep your teeth in a straight position. Otherwise, your teeth will relapse ( i.e. shift and move ) again.

After you have a Root Canal, and depending on how much post-operative pain you might experiencce, you may take any one of the Over-the-Counter non-steroid anti-inflamatory medication such as Advil, Mortin or the generic products of Ibuprofen. They are usually 200mg each tablets. You may take anywhere 600 mg to 8oomg each time. Please DO NOT take more than a total of 2400 mg ( that is 12 tablets ) per day. Or else you may over-dose and cause ulceration/ bleeding in your stomach. Please this medication after you ahve a full stomach. Do NOT take it with empty stomach.However, if you are allergic to the above medication, please do not take Ibuprofen. You may take over-the-counter Tyenolor Acetaminophine instead. It is usually either in a 325 mg or 500mg each tablet. If you takes Tylenol, please DO NOT take more than 4000 mg per day. Hope that will help! May God Bless you!

Under normal situation, you don't need to use any mouthwash fter Root Canal Treatment. However, If you really want to , I personally prefer to use Listerine. ! Hope that will help! Have Blessed day!

Thank you for asking the question!Under normal circumstance, the reasons that a tooth that needs to have a cap ( as in your case -a Zirconia crown } are because of the following conditions : -- (i) there is a very large existing restoration / filling, (ii) part of the coronal tooth structure was broken, (iii) a crack line on a tooth was diagnosed by your dentist. (iv) the tooth has shown some clinical sings of symptoms, such as pain, sensitivity to hot temperature, or to biting pressure, to hard crunchy food. (iv) a tooth had already had root canal treatment preformed. If your tooth has none of the above conditions / situation, then you do not need to have root canal treatment. Could you please tell me more about the history of your denture(s) and your jaw pain, such as (i) how many years did you have the denture, (ii) did the denture causes soreness and/or pain on your gum tissue inside your mouth? (iii) Do you wear the denture when you sleep ? (iv) When did your jaw joints pain start ? (v) is the jaw pain limited only on one side, or on both sides of the jaw joints? (vi) Does your jaw pain comes when you chew / eat? or is there any pain on your jaw even when you are NOT chewing/ eating? Hi, Thank you for asking this good question! It depends on several conditions but nor limited to the following;--The medical health of an individual, How long ago has a person missing his/her teeth. The amount of bone and the architecture of the implant sites. Under ALL ideal condition, you can have as many implant as necessary to be place at a single visit. In you case, three implants at one visit. However, When any of the conditions mentioned above is/are not ideal, you can not place all three at once time. For example , if there not enough bone width and/or bone height in any one, or all of your missing teeth area, or you may need a sinus lift procedure first, then you may need some bone grafting ( or augmentation ) procedures, prior to placing an dental implant.
