There are many reasons why someone may suddenly have a stiff neck. Stiffness is the result of the nervous system (aka your brain) trying to protect itself. I find this fight or flight mode can be a direct response to three main culprits: structural like muscles/tissues, physiological (organs, blood), or emotional (deep rooted anger, frustration, etc.). Without a thorough exam/consult, it may be difficult to decipher which.
